BARTEC brings a star of the Astronomical Association Weikersheim as a present

Together with China, Russia is one of the growing markets for BARTEC. In order to make optimal use of the potential existing there, BARTEC founded an own marketing company in Moscow in December 2005 after long years of cooperation with sales representatives and partners there.

BARTEC was able to win the SST company as a competent joint venture partner. The cable manufacturer looks back on long years of experience and has a large customer base in branches relevant for BARTEC products, such as oil, gas and energy as well as the chemical and petrochemical sector.

The joint venture is on expansion course: In February 2007, SST opened its own plant in Mytishi near Moscow. With a production area of 15,000 m2, the new production plant is among the most modern and largest of its kind in Europe.More than 40,000 kilometers of high-quality cables and 300,000 regulators per year are produced there. More than 800 employees work in the new plant.

Michael Strupinsky, director of BARTEC SST, opened the inauguration ceremony. In his greeting address he emphasised that the opening of the new plant has been the climax of 15 years of SST business activities. The joint venture partner of BARTEC has developed from a small private company to a major exporter of heating cables and regulators. SST has sales partners in 250 towns in Russia as well as own subsidiaries in each of the CIS states. As Mr Strupinksy said, this is no reason for the company to rest on its success. The capacities which are possible now enable SST to further extend its sales markets.

Numerous high-ranking guests took part in the inauguration ceremony. Lothar Mezger, CEO Marketing & Sales, and Alexander Schulgowski, Area Sales Manager Russia/CIS/Eastern Europe, conveyed the congratulations of BARTEC Germany on the new plant. As a present, they brought the sponsorship for a star which had been called "SST-Mytishi" by German astronomers. BARTEC had purchased this sponsorship from the Astronomical Association of Weikersheim.

For BARTEC, these activities abroad are an investment into the future, and the company intends to continuously expand them. Its being present with state-of-the-art safety technology in international markets is an essential prerequisite for the success of the company.
