BARTEC Sells Analyzer Systems with a Total Order Value of over 15 Million US Dollars to Russia
With an order value exceeding 15 million US dollars, BARTEC has received the largest single order since the company’s foundation in 1975. The Bad Mergentheim safety technology company delivers analyzer systems to the KINEF refinery in Kirishi, 150 km south east of St. Petersburg. After intensive negotiations, BARTEC has asserted itself against international competitors and received the order.
The city of Surgut, one of Russia’s most important oil production centres, is located in the West Siberian lowlands, approx. 5 flight hours away from Moscow. The city is a major hub in the West Siberian pipeline network. In Surgut, the petroleum and natural gas pipelines coming from Nischnewartowsk and Nowy Urengoi as well as the pipelines leading to Nowosibirsk, Perm and Tscheljabinsk meet.
Surgut is also the corporate domicile of one of the largest Russian oil companies, Surgutneftegas. This company accounts for 13 % of the Russian oil production. Currently, the company is planning to make major investments in the KINEF refinery in Kirishi, 150 km south east of St. Petersburg. Technologies from the BARTEC analyzer product area are in particularly high demand within the scope of the refinery expansion. They monitor the quality of fuels. For aircrafts, only kerosene, which is freely flowing up to -60° C must be used.
After intensive negotiations with Surgutneftegas, BARTEC sealed the biggest coup in its company history: the company’s bid for the KINEF major project was accepted. Within the scope of this order, BARTEC will deliver analyzers with a total value of over 15 million US dollars. Expanding the existing refinery, KINEF will build and commission a hydrocracker plant by 2009. This plant facilitates an improved cracking of petroleum, resulting in a considerably enhancement of the fuel quality.
"As one of the market and technology leaders in the field of safety technology, BARTEC benefits from the globally growing energy demand. This bulk order is a milestone of our internationalisation strategy and the key to secure jobs in Germany", explains BARTEC-CEO Ralf Köster. "Our company is prepared to meet the challenges of international business."
